Oral History Project

Our Oral History project began during 2016. We are collecting memories and personal stories of people who have lived/live within Stockcross and the immediate area through recorded interviews.

The original recordings of the interview are kept and transcribed and a written record also placed into the Society's archives. The interviews are then edited for future use on our website, as part of an exhibition or other form of public presentation and for research.

So far we have interviewed Jack & Shirley Perris: Shirley Wernham: Ken & Richard Rutterford.

We are keen to interview as many people as possible who remember Stockcross and give us an insight into daily life in the village. We are prioritising more senior members of the community.

If you would like to be involved please contact the Society for more details.

History of Houses

We are beginning to research the build date of each house within Stockcross. If you have any information that can help us put together a history of development please contact us email
